No Hunting Depression

We had a great christmas at the Outdo sho fo sho.
We got some new gear fo sho.

The Joes got new ground blinds and new tree stands, that means together we have like 8 tree stands.
Nick got a sweet new Duck call and a duck decoy.
Then we realized we cant use the stuff for at least 4 months!

It is tough at the end of all of the deer season houpla, to get back into the swing a things. You miss all the time in the woods, away from people, all those early mornings you got up, and all those late nights you walked out of tha woods in the dark. So many people are hunting haters, they say that we give the animals no chance, we are just out ther shootin bambi. Obviosly they dont know about New England Hunting. I think it is not even the harvest of the game that keeps us out ther because if it was not many people would stay in new england they'd move to some fat ranch in the south. We are out here in the woods enjoying nature without people... Dont let lack of hunting seasons depress you, get out in those woods do some scouting, take a nice walk w/ a lady or somethin, trry out that new flanel, go snowshoeing and practice your tracking skills, Bring a camers and see what photos you can get.
If you see a sad hunter give him a nice long bleat to cheer him/her up.

And get ready for Turkey season, do you know they almost made the wild turkey our national bird, crazy...

end of deer season

It was a tough season for deer hunting in New England. With a lot of acorns in the woods, they were everywhere. It was a tough winter last year which thinned the herd, then with all the feed this year the deer didnt have to go anywhere. They found some cover and some acorns with some water nearby and they didnt have to go far. There were a lot of unlucky hunters this year that haven't seen anything all year. But not us. We all got deer fo sho. Nick got his 78lb button buck during archery season. Joe C got his 110lb doe suring rifle season in Northwood NH. And I, Joe F, got a 104lb 7 point buck during rifle season. So we were all succesful. We put in alot of time, a lot of early mornings and late nights. A lot of trial and error.

The Deer Hunting strategies that paid off this year:

- Pay attention to the wind and your scent cover, we recommend Dead Down Wind as the best scent elimination products. Wash your clothes in it , shower in it, spray it on you after you get out of the truck.

- Pay attention to deer sign in the woods, watch their movement and research the moon cycles and deer behavior through the season.

- Plan your hunting strategies to the moon phase and the different phases of behavior that the deer go through throughout the year.

-Dont burn yourself out by climbing trees during archery season in 70 degree weather, scout more during pre and early season and really decide where the deer are.

- Walk quietly leace little impact on the woods you are hunting.
